Concept
Is a series of works in which I took as source of inspiration my grandpas secret files from the communism archives. To give a bit of context, my grandpa was imprisoned during 59’-64’, when he was 23 years old, by the Securitate (communist police) for the reason that he wanted to join the people who were against the regime, who were living in the mountains at that time. He never reached the destination, they caught him in the train, because one of his friends was a secret informer for the police and snitched him.
The works aim to capture the trace of that period from his life, to capture the trace of a moment that existed and that even after he is no longer with us, that trace of his life will still remain. Using cyanotype as a way to capture the trace of the documents, to preserve their imprint, their shadow. The fragmentation of the text or the covering of it, is used as a way to mentain the original secrecy trace of te documents.
